William Pohl III
“Mining is the most patient business there is. Match the capital to the rock, and you win over a full cycle.”

A cycle-tested approach to materials.
William Pohl III is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ERTH Resource Group. He built the firm around a discipline forged through multiple commodity cycles: invest where the rule of law protects long-lived assets, underwrite the full lifecycle, and structure for the downside first.
Under his leadership, ERTH has deployed $38 billion across five funds (Funds I–V) across the cycle, building a platform spanning battery metals, rare earths, uranium, copper, and royalties, and earning a fourteen-year average investor tenure and a 94% re-up rate.
His approach pairs operator partnership with technical rigor, and an insistence on jurisdictional and structural discipline that protects capital in every environment.
Structure for the downside, and the upside takes care of itself.
How leadership shows up.
Jurisdictional Rigor
We invest where rule of law, permitting, and property rights protect long-lived assets.
02Full Lifecycle
We underwrite from exploration through reclamation — the entire life of a mine.
03Operator Partnership
We back exceptional operators and partner with them through the hard, long work of building mines.
